Tasting notes
Even better is the 2007 Martinelli Syrah Hop Camp Vineyard. As with the Terra Felice, it's 100% Syrah and is aged in new French oak for 16 months. Possessing slightly more finesse and vibrancy, with pure raspberry, violets, game, and assorted floral nuances, the wine is medium to full-bodied on the palate and beautifully put together, showing notable purity of fruit, integrated acids, and a clean, classically styled finish. This beauty should be enjoyed over the coming 5-8 years or more.

Opaque purple. Smoky, sexy aromas of blueberry, blackberry, violet, olive and oak spices. Lush and weighty but energetic, with liqueur-like dark berry and floral flavors and supple, integrated tannins. This youthful and nicely concentrated syrah finishes with impressive vivacity and lingering spiciness.
About the producer

Martinelli is a Sonoma benchmark for vineyard-designate bottlings—wines built to highlight how strongly a single site can shape Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Zinfandel. Across the range, the focus stays consistent: small-production bottlings that feel distinctly tied to where they’re grown.
