Empty bottle weight 550 g. Free SO 2 19 mg/l, total SO 2 53 mg/l, RS 0.54 g/l. Vegetarian. Deep, lustrous crimson. Sweet, intense; I’d love to see this next to a Napa Cab at ten times the price! Everything seems to have been lavished on this wine, which is arguably not for classicists but is VGV . (JR)

Falling under the Dourthe umbrella, the 2019 Château Pey La Tour Réserve Du Château is another attractive, well-made wine offering solid red and black fruits, notes of sappy herbs, cedar pencil, and tobacco, medium body, and a clean, enjoyable finish. Drink bottles over the coming 5-7 years.
The 2019 Reserve du Château has a perfumed nose of brambly red fruit, raspberry and wild strawberry, plus a touch of rose petal. The palate is rounded and supple, with fine acidity, and quite focused and classic in style toward the spicy finish. This is a decent Pey La Tour, if not a long-term proposition.
