Tasting notes
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon, blended with 19% Merlot, begins with a dense, dark-fruited core with spicy undertones of oak that waft with elegant floral expressions. Full-bodied, the wine is weighty and well-defined across the mid-palate, delivering pleasuring with a lush, open-knit and generous expression and velvety mouthfeel. The wine continues to evolve in the mouth on the long, lingering and sophisticated finish, giving lasting flavors of blackberry jus, crème brûlée and juicy plum. 479 cases produced. Well done, it’s beautiful and silky. I want another sip.

A dark, brambly feel to the nose with bracken and leaves, interspersed with red and dark berries. The palate has a smooth and gently grainy edge that delivers mulberry and poached-plum flavors with sinewy, woody punch. Drink in the next six years.

The Bordeaux blend is the 2015 Pursued by Bear, which checks in as 81% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19% Merlot that spent a whopping 32 months in barrel prior to bottling. It's another gem offering classic currant fruit, lots of spicy oak, cedar, and tobacco aromas, full-bodied richness, ultra-fine tannins, and a seamless texture. It's balance and purity stand out, and while it will benefit from 2-4 years or bottle age, I suspect it will keep for 20-25 years.
