Weighty, concentrated and dense on the palate, this is a very classy Padthaway Shiraz which certainly delivers if you’re looking for a powerful, plush, black-cherry- and olive-scented Aussie Shiraz. Dark-cherry fruit, some meaty notes, subtle and integrated oak. (AWH)

Subject to the same barrel regime as the blend—15% new French oak for 19 months—the 2019 Henry's Drive Shiraz boasts scents of blueberries and blackberries accented by hints of menthol, vanilla and cedar. It's medium to full-bodied, expansive and velvety on the palate, with a lingering, richly textured finish. Drink it over the next decade.
