Score 92/100 · Drink 2019-2028, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Sep 2019
This is a well-priced blend of 39% Sangiovese, 35% Merlot and 26% Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2016 Modus opens to a darkly enriched and concentrated appearance. This is a full-bodied Tuscan red with layers of black fruit, spice, tar and fragrant tobacco. The wine is dense, velvety and firm with soft tannins. This is a great steak fajita wine. An ample 185,000 bottles were made.

A fantastic red, showing such depth and intensity. Rich, plum and berry aromas and flavors with some light undertones of oak and cedar. Full body. Flavorful finish. Needs time to come together. Drink after 2020, but already a beauty.
