The 2022 La Prade was picked 14 to 29 September at 37.5hL/ha. This is quite precise on the nose, with more delicacy than the Puygueraud, yet it needs coaxing and feels tightly wound at the moment. The palate is very smooth with a powdery texture. Dark berry fruit laced with graphite, quite fresh on the linear finish. Give this a couple of years once in bottle.

The 2020 La Prade has the character reflecting the essence of clay soils, as evidenced by its aromas of violet, cassis, flowers, blueberry, graphite and a touch of menthol. It’s medium to full-bodied, broad and vibrant and possesses both vinosity and terrific freshness, adding up to a long, sapid, saline finish. This is a seriously good wine providing strong evidence of the estate’s upward trajectory.
