I was able to taste two Chardonnays under the Fisher Vineyards label. Brought up in 45% new French oak, the 2017 Chardonnay Mountain Estate Vineyard offers a rich, Meursault-like vibe in its buttery orchard fruits, toasted nut, honeyed flower, spice, and subtle mineral-laced aromas and flavors. It's rich, concentrated, and opulent, yet has good acidity and a focused, balanced, lengthy style on the palate. While I'd drink bottles over the coming 4-6 years, I wouldn't be surprised to see it keep longer.

The 2017 Chardonnay Mountain Estate Vineyard is a gorgeous wine that captures all the phenolic intensity that is so typical of this site. Ripe pear, graphite, sage, dried herbs, dried flowers and chamomile all develop in the glass, but it is the wine's weight and viscosity that really stand out.
The 2017 Chardonnay Mountain Estate Vineyard was harvested September 6-18 and aged 16 months in 45% new French oak. It has a pretty nose of yellow apple, bitter orange, hazelnut and spring honey with a vein of crushed rock/saline, warm white peaches, hay and lemon curd. Medium to full-bodied, it has a good core of savory fruit, juicy acidity and a long, mineral-driven finish. 434 cases produced.
