Planted 1949. This smells riper than the Clos du Roy, and almost a little oily in its minerality but also a touch of lime. Most of all it has an earthy minerality that is highly distinct. Full and powerful in the mouth with a real herbal streak and long sour fresh finish. A note of ginger, suggests Pataille. VGV (JH)

The 2014 Bourgogne Aligoté Charmes Aux Petres has a generous, honeyed bouquet with walnut and orange blossom scents, just a touch of flor-like aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, waxy on the entry with orange rind and mango; it is crisp but with very good weight and plenty of spice towards the finish. Excellent.
