Tasting notes
The 2019 Game Trail is superb. A few years in bottle have softened the edges nicely. Dark and quite supple, with an exotic flair, the 2019 has so much to offer. This is one of the more extroverted, forward vintages I can recall tasting. Black truffle, leather, game and tobacco linger on the virile finish.

The dark red 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Game Trail comes from Yorkville Highlands in Mendocino County and was raised for 20 months in neutral barrels. It is savory and herbal with aromas of crushed pine needles, turned forest floor, and blackberries. Ripe and full-bodied, it retains its savory profile through the palate, with meaty tannins and notes of espresso on the finish. It’s a chunky Cabernet to drink over the next few years. Drink 2023-2027.
Medium ruby-purple, the 2019 Game Trail Cabernet Sauvignon features scents of blackcurrant and blackcurrant bud, chocolate, star anise, iron and violet. Powerful yet fresh, the full-bodied palate has loads of grainy tannins and bright sparks of acidity highlighting its floral perfume. It has mineral-streaked fruits and a long, layered finish with singular wafts of incense.
