Bright, saturated ruby. More evolved and much more oaky than the 2014 Mariflor Malbec, with aromas of cassis, blackberry, graphite and dark chocolate that reminded me of a Napa Valley wine. A very sweet, almost porty wine with sexy oak tones and a hint of nutty development. Fans of the type will like this but I find it a bit aggressive and obvious. Tannins and oak build on the back.

Somehow the 2011 Val de Flores was the let down of the line up, with over-ripe aromas and organic and earthy hints, showing evolution and some oxidation. I opened a second bottle which was marginally better. 2011 was not as fresh as 2013, and the times were also different, so they might have pushed for more ripeness and extraction here. This hits the scale at 15.8% alcohol and acidity is quite low. It has volume but fails to stay poised, and it feels heavy and a little flat. A question mark, because the fruit seems to be fading and the tannic structure remains... 30,000 bottles produced.
