Score 96/100 · Drink 2025-2040, Jeb Dunnuck, Sep 2023
From a small (7.5 acres), densely planted site, the 2021 Pinot Noir McCrone Vineyard pours a deeper youthful ruby and is a touch more reserved on opening but starts to reveal layered aromas of wet river rock, cardamom, wild red cherry, and fresh leather. Although it’s riper and takes on a bit more depth and richness, it remains medium-bodied, with a ripe tannin structure that offers a nice balance of energetic freshness that’s keeping the wine a bit more coiled in this early phase. It demands time to start to unfurl its full spectrum of aromas both on the palate and aromatically. Drink 2025-2040.
