From the Bricco Boschis area. Rather sumptuous and flattering on the nose. Sweet, jewelly fruit – rather a modern, emphatic Nebbiolo but very winning and rather forward. No shortage of tannins. But clean and fresh overall. GV (JR)

An exotic, totally alluring wine, Cavallotto's 2011 Langhe Nebbiolo offers up a compelling melange of dried roses, herbs, licorice and dark red cherries. An intense, powerful wine, the 2011 is also surprisingly rich. Far from an easygoing wine, the Langhe Nebbiolo delivers serious quality and complexity, both at an exceedingly fair price.
