The 2016 Pinot Noir Soberanes Vineyard, from another top-notch Santa Lucia Highlands site, has a big, flamboyant, exuberant style. Black cherries, raspberries, incense, and dried flower notes all just jump out of the glass. It’s silky, elegant, and layered on the palate, yet certainly leads with its fruit. Drink this sexy, total charmer of a Pinot Noir over the coming 4-6 years.

(two-thirds new French oak) Vivid red. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes ripe red and dark berries, vanilla and candied flowers, along with smoky mineral and exotic spice overtones. Shows impressive depth as well as energy on the palate, offering sappy, concentrated black raspberry, cherry cola and spicecake flavors supported by a spine of juicy acidity. Closes with building spiciness, smooth tannins and impressive, mineral-driven persistence.
