Tasting notes
Deep ruby. Spice-accented aromas of ripe dark berries, smoky bacon, succulent herbs and baking spices pick up a sexy floral nuance with air. Juicy and energetic in the mouth, offering pliant black and blue fruit, spicecake and floral pastille flavors that show sharp definition and strong back-end thrust. Becomes deeper with air, with no loss of energy, and finishes smoky and very long, with smooth tannins and repeating floral and bacon notes. 40% new French oak.

The 2016 Aspire is a blend of 86% Syrah and 14% Grenache aged 22 months. Opaque ruby-purple, it explodes with cassis, Castelvetrano olive, peppercorn, milk chocolate, roast coffee and grilled meats scents with notes of chargrill and earth. Full-bodied, rich and packed with black and blue flavor layers, it has a powerful, ultra fine frame and surprising freshness, finishing long and dense. This merits at least another 3-5 years in bottle.
Mostly Syrah blended with 14% Grenache, the 2016 Aspire is another powerhouse beauty from this team. Deep black (and some blue) fruits, notes of ground pepper and spiced meat, full body, ripe, pure tannins, and a big finish all make for a blockbuster effort that's beautifully ripe (not overripe or underripe), balanced, and just incredibly compelling. It's another wine that will benefit from short-term cellaring and keep for a decade.
