1997 Riseccoli Saeculum

The 1997 Saeculum (a blend of 60% Sangiovese, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Merlot aged 24 months in French oak) is superb. Opaque purple-colored, with a thick, viscous texture, this full-bodied, explosively rich, massive 1997 exhibits huge aromas of black fruits, smoke, charcoal, truffles, and toasty oak. It possesses sweet tannin, fabulous fruit extraction, an immense finish, and tremendous overall balance and purity.
