Based on 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc, aged 12-14 months in stainless steel tanks, the 2024 Château Cap De Faugères reveals ripe red and black cherries, leafy herbs, spicy herbs, and loamy earth notes. Medium-bodied and juicy, with an elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a good finish, it has outstanding potential.
Black cherries, licorice, and cocoa create the character here. Medium-bodied, fruity, round, and supple, the wine is juicy and fresh, leaving you with chocolate-covered cherries on the mid-palate and in the chalky finish. This will be delicious upon release. The wine was blended with 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc.
85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc. 45.5 hl/ha. Cask sample. Meaty, berry-fruit aromas. Round with a light tannic frame. Easy and accessible but pedestrian. (JL)
