Tasting notes
The 2024 Maillet is dark, pliant and super-expressive. Black cherry, new leather, spice and mocha all build in the glass. Vinification in equal parts barrique and tank works so well here in building creaminess and overall texture. This is nicely done.

Flowers, chocolate-covered raspberries, and licorice notes are easy to spot in the perfume. On the palate, the wine is soft, supple, polished, and fresh, with sweet, juicy, cherries, and cocoa in the finish. Already open, and accessible, you can enjoy this just about on release and for at least 15 years after that.
Good weight and richness with fine-grained tannins, deep black cherry fruit, licorice and roasted sweet spices. Juicy, tight and pretty long. A very structured, compact Pomerol for the vintage.
