Tasting notes
The 2024 La Garde Blanc is airy and brisk, but not at all austere. Orchard fruit, white pepper, chalk and mint fill out the layers effortlessly. Soft contours lend quite a bit of immediacy. Drink this over the next handful of years.

Interesting aromatically. Eucalyptus. Incense. Ginger – fresh and confit. Apple, peach, apricot and nectarine, and then 50 shades of citrus. This has a pleasing sense of structural tension, reinforced by the gentle touch of tannin on the finish. Super sapid on the finish.
The 2024 La Garde Blanc is brisk and finely cut. Vinification in wood amplifies citrus and orchard fruit notes nicely. Clean, bracing notes support the finish. I see a concerted effort to raise quality and seriousness at La Garde, obviously a huge positive.
Good minerality and lift, this has grip, beautifully teased out citrus and lime zest flavours, apple blossom, salt scrape, with good depths. Last year with Frederic Bonnaffous as Wine Director across the Dourthe Estates, and this one has seen a lot of investment and renovations over the past few years.
