Tasting notes
Vinfolio, Apr 2025

The 2024 Ch. la Conseillante contains a slightly higher proportion of Cabernet Franc than normal (20%), with their entire production of Cabernet Franc making it into the Grand Vin this year. It offers a deep and expressive nose, full of ripe, dark berries and floral notes of lilac and violet. On the palate, you are immediately struck by the tension and concentration of the wine, with its energy oscillating around a core of red crunchy fruit. The acidity is beautifully managed, balanced by round, ripe tannins and a concentrated core. The finish is long, elegant and pure. Aged in 70% new oak, with a pH of 3.57 and 13.37% alcohol, yield of 22hl/ha. Blend: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc

A really refined Conseillante. Medium-bodied with very fine, high-quality tannins that run the length of the wine, giving a subtle drive and energy. You almost want to drink it now. Pretty is the word. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc.

Coming from minuscule yields of just 22 hectoliters per hectare, the 2024 Château La Conseillante is based on 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, aging in 70% new barrels. It offers a beautiful perfume of red, blue, and black fruits intertwined with spring flowers, violets, tobacco, and spicy wood. Medium to full-bodied, it has a seamless, pure, and remarkably layered mouthfeel, with outstanding length. This is a stunning achievement in 2024 and a wine readers will love to have in the cellar.

Deep garnet-purple colored. Slowly unfurls to reveal wonderfully pure notes of wild blueberries and black raspberries, giving way to hints of camphor, violets, pencil lead, and black olives. The medium-bodied palate delivers a solid structure of firm, grainy tannins and lively acidity to frame the crunchy black fruit flavors, finishing long and mineral-laced.
