Slightly squeezed on the opening, this struggles with full balance, leafy and fresh fruit character, with high acidity on the finish. Roux-Oulié (label celebrates 360th anniversary of New York with a Big Apple image).
The 2024 Carlmagnus is quite floral and fruity, with lovely aromatic presence and plenty of bright red/purplish fruit to match. Medium in body, with fine energy, Carlmagnus is very nicely done. More importantly, the 2024 represents a positive step in terms of overall quality, which is always great to see. Tasted two times.
Dense and firm with sweet cherries and warm spices. Medium-bodied with firm tannins. A bit rustic.
