Ripe, honeyed citrus and orange fruits, spice, and caramelized pineapple notes emerge from the 2024 Clos Haut-Peyraguey. Medium-bodied, it has a juicy, lively mouthfeel, good acidity, and a terrific mix of ripe, exotic, botrytis fruit and vibrant, weightless texture.

The 2024 Clos Haut-Peyraguey is the result of three picks from September 19 to October 16, with most of the fruit coming from the middle pick. Readers will find a heady, dense Sauternes with a distinctly structural, almost tannic feel. The 130 grams of residual sugar are very nicely integrated into the wine's frame. Apricot, chamomile, spice, pineapple, passion fruit and a kiss of French oak linger on the imposing finish. Superb. Tasted three times.

Engaging and impressively construcgted, this shows delicately placed stone fruits, enjoyably supple, with marmalade and lemon peel, not overly rich instead giving fennel and chicory herbs on the finish. Love it. 90% fermented and aged in barrel, 33% new oak, harvest September 19 to October 16, 14hl/h yield.

The 2024 Clos La Gaffelière, which used to be Château Mauvesin, was picked from September 19 to October 4 at 40 hl/ha. This has a light bouquet with blackcurrant leaf and black olive scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a piquant entry and light tannins but balanced with an easygoing, black cherry-tinged finish. It will just need a year in bottle.
