Tasting notes
Dark cherries, plums, smoke, tobacco, melted road tar, licorice, savory herbs and menthol all meld together in the 2010 Barolo Serralunga. Rich, deep and muscular, the 2010 is a great introduction to the wines of the village. There is no shortage of personality. This is an especially powerful, dense entry-level Barolo with tons of sheer appeal. However, the firm tannins will need time to soften, though, so readers need to be patient.

Dark red stone fruits, tobacco, iron, smoke and orange peel are some of the notes that emerge from the 2010 Baudana. A powerful, muscular Barolo, the 2010 certainly does not lack depth or personality. Today, the aromatics show just a hint of reduction; instead it is the wine's persistence and exotic overtones that stand out.
