Tasting notes
With its dry earthiness, this is classic Jordan. It shows blackberry and black cherry flavors, with an herb note. The tannins are gentle. It will age for years, softening and gaining earthy complexities.

The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon spent 19 months in new and used French oak. It has an austere, smoky bouquet with roasted herbs and sandalwood. The palate is medium-bodied with sharp red cherry and strawberry fruit, and sharp acidity, but there is more than enough freshness and delineation on the conservative finish. Drink 2012-2017. Established in 1982 by Ted and Sheelagh Jordan, their son, erstwhile geologist Gary Jordan, and his wife have done much to put Stellenbosch on the map. Their vines lies between 160 meters and 410 meters above sea level and their winery uses gravity flow to vinify the wine in stainless steel tanks. Their winery also sports one of South Africa’s finest restaurants. Importer World Premiere Wines and Vinnovative Imports, Mooresville, NC.
