Tasting notes
Starting with the 2016 Chardonnay Platt Vineyard, the only white, this brilliant wine has a Montrachet-like stature as well as a killer bouquet of honeyed minerality, caramelized citrus, and brioche. Deep, medium to full-bodied, with bright acidity, it’s a seriously good Chardonnay from the Sonoma Coast that will keep for a decade, if not longer.

The 2016 Chardonnay Platt Vineyard is a strong debut from Vice Versa in this highly regarded Sonoma Coast site. Orchard fruit and floral notes are beautifully supported by beams of minerality. A touch of reduction add complexity and nuance. Another 6-12 months in bottle should help some of the wine's tension soften a bit. This is very nicely done.
A new project for Vice Versa, the 2016 Chardonnay Platt Vineyard (aged 16 months in 50% new French oak), opens with compelling lemon curd, white peaches and fresh pineapple notes with touches of yuzu, struck flint, baking bread and acacia honey. Full-bodied, the palate is seriously minerally with vibrant stone fruit and citrus layers and a lively line carrying off the very long finish. This should age wonderfully! 100 cases produced.
