The 2019 Pinot Noir Rosella’s Vineyard is dialed up to eleven on all fronts, but it’s a style that works so well. In fact, Adam Lee is particularly convincing in this vein. If you poured this for me blind, I would call it a baby—no more than a few years old. Loads of red fruit richness and concentration are the orders of the day, coursing through the mouth with copious amounts of sweet cherry, ripe strawberry, gravel, lavender and orange peel, framed by an array of tightly clenching tannins. This is such a forward style of wine for Clarice, but my goodness, it is attractive. Bravo.

Shimmering ruby-red. Intensely perfumed red/blue fruit scents show fine definition and are complemented by pungent floral and baking spice flourishes. At once plush and lively on the palate, sappy Chambord, boysenberry, candied lavender and allspice flavors are braced by a core of juicy acidity. Clings with strong authority on the finish, which features repeating blue fruit character and round, even tannins. 66.9% whole clusters and 50% new French oak.
The finest wine I’ve ever tasted from Adam is the 2019 Pinot Noir Rosella's Vineyard. Offering a full-bodied, clean, wonderfully textured, and flawlessly balanced profile, it reveals a pretty, nuanced bouquet of assorted red and black fruits, sassafras, and violets. Certainly my favorite of the trio in 2019, this brilliant Pinot Noir can be enjoyed any time over the coming decade, if not longer.
