Tasting notes
The 2019 Syrah Elevacion is more elegant than the 2018, with a touch more precision and purity, although both are great wines. Black raspberries, beef blood, bouquet garni, violets, and floral notes define the bouquet. and it's medium-bodied, with a wonderfully pure, elegant texture, silky tannins, and a great finish. It's more approachable than the 2018 yet will still benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age. All you Gonon and Juge worshippers out there need to put these Syrahs from Halcon in a blind lineup and shock your friends.

The 2019 Elevacion is pungent and savory. Lavender, sage, mint, dried rose petal, licorice and cloves lend quite a bit of whole cluster savoriness to the red berry fruit flavors. I would give the 2019 a few years in bottle to shed some of its youthful austerity and tannic grip. There's a lot of wine here and enough brightness to ensure years of fine drinking.
