Coming from the Perli Vineyard and brought up in 30% new French oak, the 2013 Pinot Noir Tripp’s Block offers slightly more fruit than the Two Brothers and gives up lots black cherry, black raspberry, forest floor and ground herbs. Medium to full-bodied, rich and nicely structured on the palate, with more tannin, give bottles a year or two and enjoy through 2027.

The 2013 Pinot Noir Tripp’s Block comes from the Perli Vineyard in the Mendocino Ridge. This is based on Dijon clones 667 and 777. It spends 18 months in oak, and the precentage of new oak is about 30%. A slightly larger-scaled, more savory wine than the Two Brothers, the wine exhibits a deep plum/ruby color and notes of sweet black cherry and berry fruit along with some underbrush and forest floor. The lovely texture is savory, round, juicy and very pure. This wine should drink well for up to a decade.

An addition to the range, the 2013 Pinot Noir Tripp's Block is delicate, lifted and graceful in its profile. Sage, mint and a host of floral/savory notes open up first. The 2013 is a very pretty wine, although it could use a little more depth through the mid-palate and finish.
