Tasting notes
Serralunga d’Alba. Lustrous and just mid ruby. Stunning nose of raspberry fruit shot through by minerally notes. Amazing purity. Lush yet not fully open and with super-fine, gravelly tannins. Bags of fruit and tannins that are sensationally balanced. (WS)

Grilled campfire, licorice root, crushed raspberries, savoury and mouthwatering, excellent quality, great lift on the finish, underbrush and cured leather, soy broth, fine, stretched out tannins.
A bright red brick hue, the 2021 Barolo Cerretta has a floral and spicy feel, with perfumed notes of preserved strawberries, wild raspberries, minty herbs, pressed flowers, sweet spices, and rhubarb. The palate has more medium-bodied richness, although it remains ripe and graceful, with refined tannins, even acidity, and a floating feel on the finish. It’s a very pretty wine to drink over the coming 10-15 years.
The 2021 Barolo Cerretta is bright and nicely focused. Hints of lavender, crushed rocks, mint, sage and tobacco open first. More than anything else, I admire the wine's vertical structure and overall energy. This needs time to soften. Today, brisk acids and tannins dominate.
