Score 90/100 · Drink 2012-2020, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2012

The 2011 Puro Corte is a blend of 50% Malbec, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc that is aged in French and American oak for 12 months. It has a highly pleasurable bouquet of blackberry, raspberry and cedar that is very well-defined and offers plenty of luscious Mendoza fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. There is copious crisp blackberry and raspberry fruit and a wonderful, grainy, harmonious finish that is sophisticated and begs another sip. Drink now-2020. “Oh Yeah,” “The Race,” “The Rhythm Divine,” “Vicious Games”?I should disclose that I was a huge fan of Swiss duo “Yello” during the 1980s. I never stopped to wonder whatever happened to Dieter Meier, at least not until his wines unexpectedly appeared when visiting the Uco Valley. The good news is that the top labels are up there with the finest “Yello” classics and come highly recommended (though at the moment, just the “Puro” wines are imported into the United States.)
