Tasting notes
The 2021 Pinot Noir Clos Pepe Vineyard is packed with dark fruit, leather, mocha, spice and tobacco. This flamboyant, alcoholic Pinot offers tons of intensity but not much in the way of site character. I am not sure what the objective is here.

Starting with the 2021 Pinot Noir Clos Pepe Vineyard, which was destemmed and brought up in 83% new French oak, it has a beautiful nose of mulled strawberries, redcurrants, leafy herbs, baking spices, and iron. This carries to a full-bodied Pinot Noir with a deep, concentrated mouthfeel, sweet tannins, and a great finish. A gorgeous wine that does everything right, it benefits from a quick decant and is going to evolve nicely for 7-8 years. It's legit top-notch Pinot Noir.
