Score 90/100 · Drink 2020-2027, Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate, Dec 2020
Dark purple at the core with an electric pink rim, the 2017 Malbec A Bloc opens with a nose of dark juicy plum compote, spiced cherries, chocolate-covered blueberries, blackberry essence, resinous purple flowers and nuances of French baking spices in the glass. Full-bodied, the wine is generous and juicy in the mouth, with succulent acidity and lifting tannins that frame the expression, ending with a juicy and chocolaty finish. The wine spent 22 months in French oak barrels, 27% new. This shows an excellent value at $38 per bottle, with over 4,500 bottles produced. This is delicious and checks all the boxes. Well done.
