Tasting notes
The 2012 La Paloma Pinot Noir is made by winemaker Joe Dobbes and was picked on October 10, 100% destemmed and aged for nine months in French oak (36% new). It offers straightforward, strawberry wine gum and raspberry scents on the nose that needs more delineation. The palate is better, with sappy red berry fruit, but there is lack of tension and complexity toward the easy-drinking finish. So-so.

Vivid ruby-red. Displays pungent scents of dark berries, cherry-cola, spicecake and potpourri, with a zesty mineral nuance adding lift. Sappy red and dark berry flavors are sweetened by a vanilla note and show very good depth and energy. Round and gently tannic in the style of the vintage, with repeating cola and cherry notes on the persistent finish.
