Tasting notes
The 2015 Grenache Vie Caprice Vineyard is terrific. Bright red cherry Grenache fruit is front and center in a wine that offers a good bit of nuance and freshness. Beams of tannin extend the mid-palate and finish nicely in this brilliant, precise Grenache.

The 2015 Grenache Vie Caprice Vineyard displays a pale ruby-purple color and nose of lifted cherries and mulberries over hints of rosehip tea, lavender and menthol. The medium-bodied palate provides a firm foundation of chewy tannins and lively acid to support the perfumed red berry flavors, finishing long and herbal.
Slightly darker and earthier, the 2015 Grenache Vie Caprice Vineyard is also 100% Grenache that was fermented with plenty of stems (50%) and aged 11 months in barrel. Candied black cherries, raspberries, flowers and blood orange notes flow to a medium-bodied, silky, elegant, impressively balanced Grenache that's masquerading as a Pinot Noir. Drink it over the coming 4-6 years. Focusing exclusively on Grenache, winemaker Angela Osborne continues to pull from some of the oldest vines and vineyards in California. She makes a silky, elegant style of Grenache that’s often reminiscent of a Pinot Noir.
