Tasting notes
Deep violet. Explosively perfumed aromas of suave dark berry, kirsch, smoky bacon and fresh flowers, complicated by a subtle mineral undercurrent. Fleshy and sweet, with deep blackberry and cherry liqueur-like flavors braced by fresh minerality and picking up a candied licorice quality on the close. Leaves a gentle vanillin flavor behind on the long, sappy finish. One could drink this northern Rhone doppelganger on the young side as there's plenty going on already.

Bright ruby-red. Wild nose combines redcurrant, rhubarb, underbrush, herbs, resin and oak; notes of cherry skin and minerals emerged with aeration. Supple, suave and quite dry, with the slightly bitter cherry skin element giving the wine a refreshing character. Finishes with very suave tannins and a mineral edge.
