Lavender, rose petal, mint, graphite, spices and dark black cherries from an attractive backdrop in the 2012 Pinot Noir Bateman Vineyard. Underlying veins of acidity and Sonoma Coast minerality give the 2012 its cut and focus. The Bateman is floral, lifted and precise throughout.

The 2012 Pinot Noir Bateman Vineyard is made from Dijon clone 777. The most meaty and structured of these Pinots, it comes across as very Burgundian with a Côte de Nuits-like character. Its broodingly dark color is followed by notes of forest floor, sassafras, earth, black cherries and Chinese black tea. Well-made and medium to full-bodied, it will benefit from another 6-12 months of bottle age, and should last for 6-8 years.
