Score 93/100 · Drink 2014-2025, Robert Parker, Dec 2014
I was blown away by the 2012 Pinot Noir Estate, a complex, intense effort from Chalk Hill’s estate vineyard called Trenton. It boasts a dark ruby/purple color as well as a beautiful bouquet of violets, raspberries, blueberries and black cherries. It cuts a broad swath across the palate, and possesses a striking elegance as well as purity. Good acids buttress the wine’s richness, and its medium to full-bodied personality is impressive. Still primary and young, this beauty should age nicely for a decade or more.
