Tasting notes
(aged in 100% new oak): Bright medium red. Candied aromas of cranberry and rose petal. Juicy, spicy and savory, with a distinctly saline quality to the plum and smoky oak flavors. Not a particularly fruity style: I might have guessed this wine came from Italy.

The excellent 2011 Pinot Noir Carneros exhibits fresh pomegranate, plum and sweet cherry notes intermixed with roasted herb and underbrush characteristics. Medium-bodied with a plump mouthfeel, good fruit and light tannin, it should be consumed over the next 5-6 years. Foley is one of the more interesting winemakers in Napa Valley. I first met Robert Foley years ago when he was making the wines at Pride Vineyards, and his wines never lack intensity, always delivering high quality as well as abundant fruit. Tel. (707) 965-2669
