Tasting notes
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is surprisingly approachable for a young Howell Mountain Cabernet. Ripe, racy and fruit-driven in style, this mid-weight, fragrant Cabernet can be enjoyed now and over the next handful of years, perhaps more. The typically firm Howell Mountain tannins are largely tamed here. Raspberry jam, wild flowers and white chocolate add to the wine's racy personality.

The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain (a barrel sample) is medium to deep garnet-purple in color with a fair bit of cedar showing on the nose over aromas of baked blackberries, creme de cassis, dusty earth and sautéed herbs plus a smoked meat undercurrent. The medium to full-bodied palate is wonderfully concentrated, packing tons of ripe fruit with firm, chewy tannins and just enough freshness to support, finishing long and layered.
