Tasting notes
The base 2014 Chardonnay is outstanding, with lively notes of stone fruits, citrus, toasted bread, white flowers and a touch of honeysuckle. This lightly colored effort opens up nicely with time in the glass, has medium-bodied richness and nicely integrated acidity. It’s still fresh and lively and is going to keep for a decade. Along with consultant Michel Rolland, winemaker Jean Hoefliger has produced an incredible number of killer wines in 2014 and 2015. If you’re interested in learning about all the various sites throughout the Valley, this is a good place to start.

The 2014 Chardonnay Napa offers notes of almond paste, nectarines, and citrus oil. Medium-bodied, it has a hint of vanilla from barrel, but just not the depth of flavor and depth of its more expensive sibling.
