Dark ruby-red. Perfumed aromas of bitter cherry, crushed blackberry, smoked meat, roast coffee and blood. Juicy and youthful, with a firm core of spicy, sappy fruit. Not superconcentrated but supple and nicely balanced. Finishes with firm, even tannins and a slight dryness. Became increasingly oaky with aeration.

About the producer

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars
Warren Winiarski founded Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars in 1970 when he purchased the Stag’s Leap Vineyard in Napa’s Stags Leap District. The 1973 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon – only the second vintage – won the famous 1976 Judgement of Paris blind tasting, rocketing the estate to fame.
