2014 K Vintners Syrah Rock Vintners Garden

(13% alcohol): Full medium red color. Lovely floral lift to the rather wild aromas of raspberry, cherry, game and olive tapenade. Concentrated, savory wine with good depth but not the same verve as most of the other 2014 Syrah bottlings from K Vintners--or the 2013 Rock Garden, for that matter (this wine has a pH of 4.0 following some acidification). Still, the wine's fine-grained red berry and smoked meat flavors carry nicely on the slowly building finish.
