Score 90/100 · Drink 2020-2026, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Apr 2020
The 2016 Pinot Noir Gowan Creek Vineyard is bold, juicy and so expressive. Super-ripe red cherry, hard candy, mint, vanillin and sweet spice give the 2016 its racy, extroverted personality. The Gowan Creek is decidedly flamboyant. The new oak and alcohol are at times a bit evident, but there is good potential here for future vintages to perhaps be a bit better balanced.

Score 89/100 · Drink 2019-2025, Jeb Dunnuck, Jun 2019
The 2016 Pinot Noir Gowan Creek Vineyard offers a more lifted, slightly volatile bouquet of ripe berries, blueberries, violets, and incense. It's juicy, medium-bodied, has terrific fruit, and a good finish. As with all these Pinot Noir releases, it spent 16 months in 60% new French oak.
