The 2017 Compagni Portis White Wine is a field blend of Gewürztraminer, Trousseau Gris, Riesling and other white varieties from vines planted in 1954, made without new oak or malolactic fermentation. It has a very perfumed nose with lemongrass, white pepper, musk melon, lime candy, petrichor, lychee and rosewater with white stone fruits at the core. Light to medium-bodied, it offers tons of perfumed fruit in the mouth, with juicy acidity and a long, textured finish. 139 cases were made.

Made mostly from Gewurztraminer (there’s a bevy of other varieties), the 2017 Compagni Portis gives up exotic notes of quince, lychee, and exotic floral notes as well as medium-bodied richness, a light, seamless texture, and a clean finish. It’s another complex, textured, yet vibrant white from Mike that’s well worth drinking.
