Tasting notes
The 2020 Range 30 West is a bold, juicy wine. Cabernet Franc aromatics lend tons of presence to this striking red. Succulent red cherry, dried herbs, leather, cedar and white pepper add quite a bit of complexity. The contours remain a bit angular, but that won't be a problem at the dinner table, where this wine will be at its most enjoyable.

The 2020 Range 30 West is a based on 64% Cabernet Franc and 36% Merlot and spent 20 months in 57% new French oak. It’s a more medium-bodied, straightforward effort with lots of cedary herbs, bouquet garni, and sweet cherry fruits. Drink this enjoyable red blend over the coming 4-6 years. I still find the 2020s to be slightly hit-or-miss from this reference point producer in the Central Coast, but the good news is that the 2021s appear to be a step up as well as more consistent.
