Score 92/100 · Drink 2022-2032, Jeb Dunnuck, Aug 2020
Coming all from the Happy Canyon region of Santa Barbara, the 2017 Range 30 West checks in as 61% Cabernet Franc and 39% Merlot that spent 22 months in 50% new French oak. Lots of mulled Bing cherries, sappy herbs, cedarwood, and violet notes all define the bouquet, and it's medium-bodied, elegant yet concentrated on the palate. Although it's drinking nicely today, I suspect it will benefit from another 2-3 years of bottle age and drink well for a decade.

The 2017 Range 30 West is a very pretty, delicate wine. Crushed red berries, flowers and Cabernet Franc takes center stage in this silky, nuanced Ballard Canyon Red. Best of all, the 2017 can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring.
