Score 91-93/100 · Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan 2020
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Montagna is deep, plush and super-concentrated. In this tasting, the Montagna is a pretty rich wine, even by Hall standards. Black cherry, chocolate, licorice, spice and tar add to the wine's potent, broad feel.

Opaque purple-black colored, the barrel sample of 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Montagna prances out of the glass with crushed black and red plums, warm blueberries and black currant jelly with hints of bay leaves, forest floor and bouquet garni. Full-bodied, the palate is jam packed with ripe black fruits and earthy sparks, framed by grainy tannins and loads of freshness, finishing savory.
