Tasting notes
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Rive di Cimarossa is a terrific introduction to the wines of this estate. Dark red cherry, plum, graphite, smoke and cloves meld together in a very pretty wine that captures both the radiance of the year and the essential minerality of Howell Mountain. The Rive di Cimarossa is made from a handful of mostly northwest facing sites.

A beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon from high on Howell Mountain, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Rive di Cimarossa offers up lots of white chocolate, dense mulberry and blackberry fruit with underlying floral and wet gravelly notes. It is full-bodied, rich, nicely textured, pure and has the 2012 vintage's opulence and silky tannins. Drink over the next 10-15 years. I believe well-known wine consultant Mia Klein is behind this effort.
