Tasting notes
A ripe, voluptuous, sexy Syrah that does everything right, the 2007 Syrah Estate is loaded with notes of darker fruits, charred meats, licorice and smoked earth. Ripe, concentrated and gorgeous on the palate, with sweet tannin, it would do just fine in a lineup of Hermitage. The blend is 87% Syrah and 13% Petite Sirah, aged in 50% new French oak.

Inky ruby. Powerful scents of cassis, candied cherry, tarragon and dark chocolate. Sweet red and dark berry preserve flavors are complemented by smoky mineral and floral qualities and framed by supple tannins. Youthfully firm on the finish but not at the expense of the sweet, energetic fruit.
The dense ruby/purple-colored 2007 Syrah offers a big, sweet kiss of boysenberry, black cherry, charcoal, and wood smoke as well as a subtle burning ember component. This complex, dense, medium to full-bodied, elegant, pure wine can be enjoyed over the next 5-6 years. Tel. (805) 688-1278; Fax (805) 686-1508
