Tasting notes
Lots of leather, camphor, black olive, and chocolate, as well as terrific amounts of darker currant fruits, emerge from the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Three D Dr. Crane Vineyard, a medium to full-bodied, ripe, rounded Cabernet from this Grand Cru site just outside of St. Helena. Give bottles 2-3 years and enjoy over the following 15.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Three D Dr. Crane Vineyard offers a more potent expression of this St. Helena site, but that concentration and depth dominates over some of the aromatic charm and brightness often found in Dr. Crane Cabernet. Blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice, mocha and big tannins envelop the palate in this decidedly virile Dr. Crane Cabernet.
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon 3D Dr. Crane Vineyard prances out of the glass with a gorgeous perfume of warm cassis, black cherries and black raspberries, plus hints of roses, lavender, underbrush and camphor, with an exotic touch of sandalwood. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is tightly wound with a rock-solid frame of firm, grainy tannins and lovely freshness to support the muscular black fruits, finishing epically long and beautifully earthy.
