2015 Failla Pinot Noir Occidental Ridge Vineyard

Super-ripe black cherry, smoke, tar, licorice and game are some of the signatures that emerge from the 2015 Pinot Noir Occidental Ridge Vineyard. There is a Syrah-like color and gamy intensity to the 2015 that is impossible to miss. It will be a number of years before the 2015 is ready to drink. I don't imagine it will ever be an especially refined wine, but it is certainly striking if taken on its own terms.
